- This observation is only about the specific model (Hitachi C4K60), and is not true for more recent Hitachi drives, which do disable APM with -B 255.

Granted there are more efficient boxes out there by now but so far it's done its job exceedingly well and should stem the calculated 367W load with ease (roughly 10W more When it is running at the lowest speed it is indiscernable to me from having the fan completely unplugged.
