If it was actually dropping that many frames the video would hardly display at all so I can only assume this is a bug in the renderer readings. They need to be converted to something, maybe HLSL? After applying these settings the stuttering was lowered to the same ammount as when using analog 2.0. It doesn't make any sense, and I think this behavior is erroneous. My phone is showing something weird per default like in screenshot. If you do an open DVD on the BD, MPC-HC will make a best guess, but, as you've seen it doesn't always get it right.
According to other posts on this forum and Shuttle company itself the machine should be able to play 1080p movies without any problems. As I understand it installing VLC makes the codecs included available to other programs.
