Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. In Outlook 2007 On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling tab. Thank you!!!!! Click on Start > Run and type regedit 3.

Worked PERFECTLY. I then did what Freelancer said and it worked! I recommend this fix to everyone! It seems that Office 2007 disables the English dictionary becasue it causes problems with Outlook Express.

I am delighted your fix works so I won't have to go through that again. Window comes up that there is no American dictionary. I've tried the suggestion Lance gave for add-ins, as well as the language one. I have Norton Anti-Virus, Registry Fix and microsoft's maliciuos remova tool but they sy there are no bugs or viruses.

I have experimented with various other relevant settings to no avail. I'm sorry to bother everyone, but if I could get help that would be great! My suggestion, though, would be to close word first, then make the registry change, then re-open word, then re-run the spell check. Anna This is great- I had tried everything.
