I am having a horrible time finding out how to set up autotext. If anyone knows, can you walk me through it. I prefer the 2003 edition, but must upgrade..........Thanks!!! ... Need to make sure your AutoCorrect/Auto Text functions s RE: Auto Text - I keep adding AutoText entries but then the next day they are gone. I bought a new computer with XP, NOT Vista,loaded the program back on and it seems to work fine EXCEPT I always worked in normal view, just like it better. AutoText entries are saved in Word templates (*.dot files); they cannot be saved in regular documents (*.doc files). It is helpful to keep in mind both the capabilities of the tools, along with what you want to accomplish. If you forget this step, you should be given a chance to save the template when you close Word—but you shouldn't rely on this. How do I insert a Building Block entry? open a word document, under help type in auto text--sm and you can learn how to create, save, delete, edit entries. I transcribed everything from radiology to oncology, orthopedics, general surgery, doctor's visits, you name it. Hope that helps!
