You can find a version of this tip for the older menu interface of Word here: Controlling Scroll Bars. Under Window options, select or clear the Show vertical scroll bar check box. It's just buried in a sea of options. 1. see it here But how is it getting unchecked?
By default, the horizontal and vertical scroll bars are shown. The only way I know to turn it back on is to go into Word options, Advanced, and check the option Show vertical scroll bar. All rights reserved.
