In Read mode, text is resized according to the zoom settings. Clear out c:\windows\temp directory on the machine that houses the files, then reboot. If you have figured this out, let me know. Not to go off on a tangent here, but you can check to see if this flag is on a document through the Save-As dialog in Word, under Tools\General Options: To I can then paste my updates back into it and save as normal. Manually clearing this applying to all sub-folders and files completed the task fine but all the folders immediately reverted to read only. Everything now works OK. I am using Windows 7. When I close the document the file is saved unprotected. The only answer I found that MAY help is below; but I have > > not > > tried it yet.
