My mother board is an ECS 945gct-m3 ( It came with the computer) Now when i plugged in the new CPU, the computer would start and the fan would go but It can be that the pins are shorting each another and this is causing the system not to boot up even with the original memory cards. I removed my memory cards but heard no beeping sounds, so it could be the processor or the motherboard. I press the CAPS and Num Lock keys and no light from my keyboard; could that be a motherboard problem?

If you don't have another PC to do this then you can always ask for help from a friend or relative. I have the same problem, I removed the memory (RAM) and turned on the computer and it started beeping quickly and repeatadly till I turned if off.
