From what I have noticed there is probably some issue with the thermal cutout switch or the thermal management design all together. To do this go to the following: Start > Control Panel > Power Options and press "Power Buttons" on the left hand side. I chose to 're-start windows' - this restarted the computer but I still ended up with a black screen.
